Local Music Veteran Chronicles Three Decades of New Jersey Rock in New Book

Maywood native Michael Gilligan has been in the New Jersey music scene nearly his whole life. He frequented shows at Maxwell’s in Hoboken and even started his own label, Fake Chapter, when he was 18 years old, selling cassette tapes out of his dorm room. 

“I was one of those kids that was, like, five years old and watching MTV all day long,” Gilligan tells New Jersey Monthly.
