PHILADELPHIA — The Cardinals placed starter Andre Pallante on the 15-day injured list on Friday with right elbow inflammation.

The move is retroactive to Aug. 18.
The 27-year-old right-hander is 12-6 with a 3.57 ERA in 24 starts this season. He allowed 10 hits in six innings in a 6-5 loss to Cincinnati in his last start on Monday.
