Max Fried back on IL with bone bruise in left elbow

The Yankees on Monday placed left-hander Max Fried on the 15-day injured list with a left elbow bone bruise. The move is retroactive to Aug. 14.

Fried returned on July 22 after spending two months on the IL with the same injury. In his last start on Thursday against the Mariners, Fried battled through five innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four batters and walking two.
