This story was originally published before MLB staged its first Field of Dreams game on Aug. 12, 2021. We are republishing it in the leadup to the third edition of the game, set for Aug. 13 in Dyersville, Iowa. The game will be broadcast on Netflix, which on Saturday returned the iconic 1989 film, “Field of Dreams,” to its content library.
