Casey Mize goes 3 1/3 innings in Padres debut

PHOENIX — It’s been a whirlwind few days for Casey Mize. Perhaps that’s the best way to explain his first start with the Padres on Wednesday night in Arizona.

The Diamondbacks were all over Mize, particularly in his second trip through the lineup. He held Arizona scoreless through two, but allowed two runs in the third, then three more in the fourth before he exited with the bases loaded….
