Casey Mize to be traded to Padres from Tigers

The Padres agreed to a substantial trade to improve their rotation at Monday’s 3 p.m. PT Trade Deadline, reaching a deal with the Tigers to acquire right-hander Casey Mize and infielder Gage Workman, the club announced. Left-hander Kash Mayfield (Padres’ No. 2 prospect) and rookie lefty Jackson Wolf are the return to Detroit.
