Kati Roll is Expanding to New Jersey
A longtime New York City favorite is preparing to make its New Jersey debut.
The Kati Roll Company, known for bringing Kolkata-style street food to Manhattan more than two decades ago, is set to open its first Garden State location in Jersey City on July 1.
Founded in 2002 in Greenwich Village by Payal Saha, the concept helped introduce many New Yorkers to kati rolls long before fast-casual dining became a national trend. Since then, the brand has expanded throughout New York City, as well as to locations in London and Dallas.
For those unfamiliar, a kati roll is a popular Indian street food consisting of grilled fillings wrapped inside a fresh roti or paratha. The restaurant’s menu features a variety of meat, vegetarian and vegan options, with signature offerings including Achari Paneer Rolls, Unda Chicken Tikka Rolls and Shami Kabab Rolls.
Beyond rolls, guests can also expect rice bowls, salad bowls, mango lassis and house-made snacks. According to the company, ingredients are prepared fresh daily, with meats marinated in-house and sauces made from scratch.
The Jersey City opening marks the first step in a broader regional expansion, with additional New Jersey locations reportedly planned before the end of the year.
