Maya Nuwayhid recorded a hat trick for third-seeded Pingry, No. 11 in the NJ.com Top 20, in its 6-1 victory against second-seeded (No. 5) Mount St. Dominic in the semifinal round of the North Jersey, Non-Public A Tournament in Caldwell.
With her second goal of the game, Nuwayhid broke the Pingry girls soccer program record for most goals scored. Nuwayhid broke the previous record of 92 goal, set by Madisyn Pilla back in 2019.
Pingry led 3-0 at halftime before outscoring Mount St. Dominic 3-1 in the second half.
Maya Rebimbas scored a pair of goals for Pingry while Sydney Ellsworth netted a goal.
Lena Tusche scored the lone goal of the game for Mount St. Dominic in the second half.
Pingry will face the winner of the top-seeded (No. 7) Immaculate Heart and fourth-seeded Oak Knoll matchup in the final round on Thursday.
Pingry returns to the final round of the North Jersey, Non-Public A Tournament for the first time since the 2022 season when it fell to Immaculate Heart, 5-1. Pingry is looking for its first Non-Public A sectional title since 2019 when it defeated Red Bank Catholic in the South Jersey tournament.
