A man posing as a federal agent was arrested Friday after he was spotted near a Bergen County school, police said.
A security employee of an unidentified Englewood public school alerted police after encountering the man, and officers quickly located him, according to a statement from the Englewood Police Department.
The man, who was not identified, was taken into custody, and police found a knife on him, the department said.
He was facing several charges, but police did not elaborate in their statement.
“This individual did not gain access to the school and based on the information available at the time, it was deemed unnecessary to employ any shelter in place procedures,” the department said.
