Grady Emerson assigned to Single-A for pro debut

The Rays assigned Emerson, their top prospect, to Single-A Charleston on Tuesday. The 18-year-old shortstop will make his professional debut this week at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park, the RiverDogs’ home ballpark. Charleston is hosting Single-A Hill City, the Guardians’ affiliate. The first pitch of Tuesday’s series opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
