Breaking down the Nationals’ Curtis Mead, Connelly Early trade

WASHINGTON — Paul Toboni, the Nationals’ first-year president of baseball operations, wasn’t planning to move infielder Curtis Mead as the Aug. 3 Trade Deadline neared.
