The Cliffs perform at ParkStage in Freehold, June 3.
ParkStage at The East Freehold Showgrounds in Freehold — a new, outdoor concert venue with a capacity of 8500 — had a soft opening on June 3, with a free concert featuring two of New Jersey’s most polished cover bands, The Cliffs and The Sensational Soul Cruisers. Thousands came out for the show and the preview of the space, which will host at least 12 other shows this summer, starting June 19.
This is a joint project of The Count Basie Center for the Arts and Monmouth County Tourism.
It is a big, open space, with some seating, but only in VIP areas. Collapsible stools, cane seats, blankets or towels (smaller than 52” x 47”) and baby strollers are allowed, but not lawn chairs. Parking is free, but tailgating is not allowed.
The Monmouth County Fair, which traditionally takes place at The East Freehold Showgrounds, will be there again, July 22-26, when no ParkStage concerts are scheduled.
