Opening Alert: Asturia Brewing Co, Hackensack, NJ
A new brewery blending craft beer, culture, and community has officially opened in Hackensack.
Asturia Brewing Co. is now open at 155 Lodi Street, introducing a family-driven brewery concept centered around artisanal beer, music, art, and Brazilian-inspired hospitality.
The project is led by Nickolas Reis alongside members of his family, including sister Natalia Reis, who helps oversee beer development and recipe testing. The brewery’s broader identity and community presence are also shaped by Victoria Santos and Alice Santos, with entrepreneurial roots tracing back to the family’s brewing background in Brazil.
According to the team, Asturia Brewing Co. was inspired in part by Klaro Microcervejaria in Goiânia, Brazil, where Reis’ father was involved during the early days of the Brazilian craft beer movement. The Hackensack brewery aims to combine those Brazilian influences with modern American craft brewing and focuses on small-batch beer production using a 20-barrel brewing system.
The renovated industrial warehouse space features an open brewery and taproom layout where guests can view the brewing equipment directly from the tasting area. The interior combines industrial finishes with warmer design elements, including Brazilian-inspired artwork, plants, and lounge-style seating designed to encourage a social atmosphere.
Asturia Brewing Co. is currently operating on a reservation-only basis.
