A Raccoon Learns About How Memories Are Made

All of the art in “Robinson’s New Thing” was drawn by hand.

First, Mills sketched her composition ideas in colored pencil. She used a lightbox to trace those sketches onto a watercolor canvas, which was stretched out to prevent warping as the surface gets wet. The new book brings many of her disciplines together, including the use of chalk pastels.
