DP’s Pub Expected Back as Soon as Next Week in Garfield
DP’s Pub in Garfield is preparing to return later next week, marking the long-awaited return of the longtime local favorite after last year’s devastating fire.
“In the early morning hours of April 12, 2024, the iconic DP’s Pub was destroyed by a fire,” the business previously shared, adding, “We do hope to rebuild and will keep our customers informed of our progress.”
For more than 50 years, DP’s has been known as a go-to neighborhood pub with a “warm, friendly atmosphere” for lunch, dinner, or a casual hangout with friends.
The pub says it focuses on “the freshest and highest quality food,” sourcing locally when possible, including seafood from Peter’s Fish Market along with poultry from a local farm and fresh steaks and burgers.
DP’s ownership has evolved over the decades-including a transition to long-time employees in the mid-2000s, followed by the 2019 purchase of former patrons, who pledged to continue offering fresh food at reasonable prices.
As part of the comeback, the team hopes to rehang a familiar piece of history—sharing that the original DP’s Pub sign that was damaged in the fire, has restored by an employee and will return.
