POINT PLEASANT BEACH — Shadow, a female African penguin at Jenkinson’s Aquarium, has reached a remarkable milestone: her 40th birthday.

“Forty is exceptional,” said penguin supervisor Nicole Ginsburg, who has worked at the aquarium for 11 years. “She doesn’t look a day over 10.”
