Lieutenant Gov. Tahesha Way is up with her first digital ad of the fast-approaching special election for New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, a spot that pitches her as a fighter for democracy and against Donald Trump.
Way’s campaign said the ad kicks off a “six-figure digital advertising investment”; the lieutenant governor is one of 11 Democrats hoping to win the February 5 primary to succeed Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill.
“I’ve spent my career fighting for New Jersey families – expanding healthcare coverage, protecting voting rights, and yes, beating Donald Trump in court when he tried to suppress our votes,” Way said in a statement. “I know what it’s like when the system leaves you behind. That’s why I’m running to bring that fight to Congress and make sure the 11th district has representation that will always stand up to extremism, deliver real results, and never back down.”

Narrator: “Tahesha Way: the lieutenant governor who expanded healthcare access for you and your family, because she knows firsthand that health care is a human right. Tahesha Way: the Secretary of State who expanded voting access. And when Donald Trump tried to make it harder to vote in New Jersey, she beat him in court. Tahesha Way: the only Democrat for Congress who’s taken on Donald Trump – and won.”
