No. 2 Bergen Catholic takes down Don Bosco Prep in N.J.’s top basketball rivalry (PHOTOS)

Michigan State commit Julius Avent scored a game-high 16 points on Tuesday night for Bergen Catholic in a 60-36 win over rival Don Bosco Prep.

St. Joseph (Mont.) transfer Alex Mazzella and Sean Forbes each added 10 points for Bergen Catholic, No. 2 in the NJ.com Top 20. The Crusaders improved to 7-1 after their first home win of the year. Bergen Catholic had a game scheduled against Ramapo earlier in the season that was called off due to unsafe court conditions.

Merrimack commit JP Skoric led Don Bosco Prep with 14 points. The Ironmen dropped to 2-7.
