In a rare opportunity to see two iconic Garden Staters together, U.S. Senator Cory Booker will speak about his new book, Stand, with rock legend Jon Bon Jovi at Newark’s NJPAC on Sunday, March 22.
“Jon Bon Jovi is a literal rockstar, but more than that, from causes ranging from affordable housing to supporting our veterans, he is a rockstar of service, and a statesman for the best of America in his own right,” Booker tells New Jersey Monthly. (Read his recent interview with us here.)
The conversation is designed to inspire hope, unity and positive action.
It will center on the Democratic senator’s new book, Stand (out March 24 from St. Martin’s Press), an urgent call to rekindle our shared American ideals. At the unique event, both Booker, 56, and Bon Jovi, 64, will speak about America’s future, the importance of shared values and moral courage. The talk kicks off Booker’s nationwide book tour.

Acclaimed musician and philanthropist Bon Jovi recently announced that his band will tour this summer, including multiple shows at Madison Square Garden in July. It’s their first tour since Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022. He and his wife, Dorothea, founded and run a nonprofit, JBJ Soul Kitchen, a community restaurant in New Jersey that tackles food insecurity with a “pay-it-forward” model. It has locations in Newark, Red Bank and Toms River, plus a new location coming soon to Asbury Park.
The talk at NJPAC is scheduled for 2 pm, and tickets are available here.
(Note: there will not be a musical performance at this event.)
