AVALON – Borough officials pressed for the governor to declare a state of emergency regarding the condition of the beaches at a Feb. 11 meeting with Department of Environmental Protection officials.
Mayor John McCorristin and Business Administrator Scott Wahl met virtually with new DEP Chief of Staff Henry Gajda and others to make the case for the borough and other county Shore communities.
