One person was killed and eight people were injured Thursday morning after a snow plow lost control on Interstate 70 and crashed through the median into oncoming traffic, hitting two vehicles and a van carrying a youth hockey team.

Troopers responded to the crash at 8:53 a.m. on eastbound I-70 near milemarker 218, which is close to Herman Gulch and about 13 miles east of Silverthorne.
