The Census Bureau has released 2024 data on each state’s residents showing their state of birth. Not surprisingly, the vast majority of New Jerseyans were born here or come from close by.
In 2024 just over half of the state’s residents were born in the Garden State, with another 15% from New York and Pennsylvania. That is a full two-thirds of New Jersey’s population.
