Wild D Jonas Brodin’s Olympics in jeopardy due to injury

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin’s lower-body injury could jeopardize his chances of joining Team Sweden at the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Wild coach John Hynes confirmed Thursday that Brodin, 32, is week-to-week with the nagging injury.
‘It didn’t happen in one game,’ Hynes said, per The Athletic. ‘It’s something that I think has been building up a little bit.’
Brodin recorded an assist in Monday’s 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils. He has 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) and a plus-13 plus/minus rating in 42 games this season, his 14th with Minnesota.
The men’s ice hockey competition at the Winter Games begins on Feb. 11 in Milan, Italy. NHL players are taking part for the first time since 2014.
