At least 12 people are displaced after a fire erupted in an Atlantic City apartment building on early Wednesday morning.
The fire at the Brighton Towers condo building, located along the 2800 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey at about 4:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Officials said crews responded to the 13-story high rise structure to find heavy flames pouring from the eighth floor of the structure.
“They told us to get out,” recalled David Nickel, a resident of the building. “We came down the stairs because we couldn’t take the elevator. We turned around and saw the flames coming out of the windows.”
