New Jersey high school boys basketball is really heating up and you’ll want to be set to take in all the action.
Each week, the NJ Advance Media boys basketball staff will bring you a list of games to keep an eye on – a Game of the Day and a few others that have piqued our interest.
Take a look below for the games to watch, Jan. 5-11.
Monday, Jan. 5
Game of the Day
Red Bank Regional at Rumson-Fair Haven, 6:45
Rumson-Fair Haven head coach George Sourlis has led his team to a 7-0 start in his first season at the helm. On Monday night, he will face the team he coached for four seasons. RBR and RFH always play a tight game, as the last three matchups were decided by single digits. RFH defeated RBR in the Shore Conference quarterfinals last winter, but the Bucs won the season series 2-1 thanks to two-point and four-point victories.

Game of the Day
Dwight-Englewood at St. Mary (Ruth.), 7
These two NJIC Non-Publics are each looking to take a big step forward this winter. St. Mary (Ruth.) has won four in a row over the Bulldogs dating back to 2013, but Dwight-Englewood’s sensational underclassmen core is trying to shake up this small-school rivalry. Dylan Stone, Brody Stone and Leonard Rubin have been solid this winter despite the inexperience on the varsity level. They’ll look to go toe-to-toe with St. Mary’s dangerous core that includes Matt Kennedy, Jake Ellis and Merrick Olkowski.
