New Jersey added 12,637 new voters in December 2026, with an increase of 2,321 more Democrats and 2,016 more Republicans, according to data released by the New Jersey Division of Elections today.
The number of unaffiliated voters increased by 8,278.
The state now has 854,859 more Democrats than Republicans, up slightly from 854,554 one month ago.
In July 2020, there were over 1 million more Democrats than Republicans. That lasted until mid-2023.
New Jersey’s voter registration is now 38% Democratic, 36% unaffiliated, and 25% Republican.
In New Jersey’s 7th district, one of the most competitive in the nation, there are now 20,285 Republicans. The GOP edge was 20,524 last month; in November 2022, it was 16,805.
The Natural Law Party, which has been defunct since 2004, gained six new voters in New Jersey last month. Over the last year, the gains came primarily from new registrations at the Motor Vehicles Commission.
