More than 19,000 power outages have been reported across New Jersey as of Sunday morning, as a winter storm brought heavy snow across the state.
The outages were primarily concentrated across multiple utility providers, with the breakdown as follows:
- JCP&L: 8,104
- PSE&G: 4,313 outages
- Atlantic City Electric: 6,751 outages
- Rockland Electric: 6 outages
The system moving through the region has triggered winter storm warnings for seven New Jersey counties and winter weather advisories for the rest of the state.
Up to 7 inches of snow is possible.
Residents should prepare for cold temperatures, gusty northwest winds, and potential blowing snow. The National Weather Service warns that wind chills could drop to near zero in some areas.
Power restoration efforts are ongoing and utility companies recommend checking their websites or local emergency management resources for the most up-to-date information on outages and estimated repair times.
