Mataway earned two individual titles to take the top spot at the Ricky I Memorial Tournament hosted by Gov. Livingston at Berkeley Heights.
Matawan finished with 196.5 points while St. Mary’s Ryken (MD) took second with 156 points and Hillsborough finished third with 144 points.
Dylan Sierra gave the Huskies the title at 113 with a 14-5 major over Ridge’s Ben Chacko. Mohammad Targali took home the heavyweight crown with a pin over Jason Gross (St. Joseph (Met.)).
St. Thomas Aquinas had back-to-back-to-back champions in the lighter weights. Nikolas Rivas took a 20-5 tech over Becket Geary (St. Mary’s Ryken) at 120, Nicholas Campanelli pinned Rumson-Fair Haven’s Henry Marshall at 126, and Hudson Platt claimed the 132-pound title with an 18-1 tech over St. Joe’s Evan Closterman.
Ethan Delacruz (144) and Kwabena Morgan (175) won titles for Bound Brook.
New Providence’s Braeden Valley took first at 150 with a 12-5 decision over Matawan’s Alexander Liss.
Owen Miller won for Hillsborough at 157 with a pin over Gov. Livingston’s Josh Knuth.
Ridge’s Dominic Dorrman pinned New Providence’s Henry Capasso at 190.
Colonia’s Brandon Crespo earned the 165-pound title with a pin over Nicholas Hawker (St. Mary’s Ryken).
