Mondelēz Global is voluntarily recalling Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches because some shipments may contain a known allergen.
In a Nov. 28 notice, the East Hanover-based consumer packaged goods company said it initiated the recall after discovering 70 cases were mislabeled as cheese variety but may instead be peanut butter flavored.
Affected products were then “inadvertently shipped to a limited number of retailers” in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama, according to Mondelēz.
While the outer cartons feature correct labeling and include a “contains peanuts” advisory, the individually wrapped packs inside may have incorrect labeling indicating the cheese variety, the company said.

The recalled product details:
- 27.6-ounce cartons of Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches
- 20-count format
- Best-by dates of Jan. 8, 2026, through Jan. 15, 2026
- UPC code is 44000 07584 2
No other Ritz product is included in the action and there have been no reports of injury or illness related to the affected item, according to Mondelēz. However, it urges consumers who have a peanut allergy to throw out the recalled crackers.
Customers may also contact the company at 844-366-1171 for more information.
According to Mondelēz, the latest notice includes a product from a batch of carton sizes that were recalled in July due to the same issue. The company noted that the announcement is “not an expansion of the prior recall and is being conducted out of an abundance of caution.”
