U.S. Senator Cory Booker is a married man.
The 56-year-old Booker said yesterday that he and Alexis Lewis, who works at a real estate investment firm, had married in a pair of private ceremonies in Newark and Washington D.C. The senator had announced his engagement to Lewis in September; the two have been together for a year and a half.
“Overflowing with gratitude,” Booker said in an Instagram post. “We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us – Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C. – first at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful.”
Booker, who ran for president in 2020 and may do so again in the future, has long had his romantic life be the subject of media speculation; most prominently, during his 2020 campaign, he was in a relationship with the actress Rosario Dawson.
