The history of the NJSIAA Group Championships can be traced back to 1919, when the competition was just a single meet.
After multiple iterations, the current format, which began in 1979 on the boys side and 1982 on the girls side, features six group champions for both genders.
Saturday’s meet will be another edition of one of the state’s most legendary and storied athletic competitions.
