Livingston-headquartered CoreWeave is making a major investment in the United Kingdom, marking its next phase of growth globally.
In May 2024, the company committed $1.36 billion to establish and expand its U.K. operations, which brought two new AI data centers online in just six months.
On Sept. 16, CoreWeave announced the next $2.05 billion phase of its investment in AI data center capacity and operations. That brings the company’s total U.K. investment to $3.41 billion.
The announcement came during a State Visit by President Donald Trump to the U.K.
“Our investment in the U.K. will establish one of the world’s largest concentrations of state-of-the-art, sustainable compute, unlocking new opportunities for innovation, economic growth, and scientific discovery,” said Michael Intrator, co-founder and CEO of CoreWeave. “It allows us to deliver unparalleled AI performance with the lowest possible environmental impact, setting a new global standard.”

‘A clear vote of confidence’
“This investment by CoreWeave is a clear vote of confidence in Britain’s potential to become a world leader in AI,” said U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“Today marks a historic chapter in U.S.-United Kingdom technology collaboration,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “We are at the big bang of the AI era – and the United Kingdom stands in a Goldilocks position, where world-class talent, research, and industry converge.”
Success story
CoreWeave co-founder Brian Venturo was recently listed as one of the wealthiest people in America, according to Forbes. See who else made the list here.
The investment marks the latest in a string of high-profile announcements by Jersey-born and bred CoreWeave. The company famously got started in a garage here in the Garden State. Those developments have included key partnerships and acquisitions, as well as a $6 billion plan to build a state-of-the-art data center in Lancaster, Pa. Most recently, the company launched CoreWeave Ventures to support independent founders and startups.
CoreWeave is also the official AI Cloud Computing Partner of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.
As NJBIZ reported, the leader in the AI infrastructure space went public earlier this year. As of this writing, shares are trading at more than three times the IPO.
Simply put, 2025 has been a huge year for CoreWeave — and this is just the latest example.
Intratord added, “We look forward to collaborating with the UK Government and the broader ecosystem to drive the next wave of responsible AI leadership around the world.”
