Hoboken mayoral candidate Emily Jabbour launched a digital ad on Thursday, according to an announcement.
Jabbour highlights her founding of a gun violence prevention group in Hoboken and her work expanding youth programs in the city as a councilwoman. The release did not specify how much money would back the ad.
Jabbour’s opponents include Councilman Michael Russo, Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, Councilman Ruben Ramos, and Dini Ajmani, a former deputy assistant U.S. Secretary of the Treasury under President Joe Biden and assistant State Treasurer under Gov. Phil Murphy.
Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla is all but guaranteed to win a 32nd district seat in the General Assembly come November.
On Tuesday, Jabbour announced she was endorsed by Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, one of the country’s most significant gun violence prevention groups. The announcement states Jabbour helped draft and pass the city’s municipal safe gun storage ordinance. She was first elected to the Hoboken Council in 2017.

“I watched an active shooter drill at my daughter’s school. That changed me forever. I got involved. Listened. And founded our chapter of Moms Demand Action. We made progress and helped reduce gun violence. Then I ran for City Council. We expanded youth programs to bring crime down and make our streets safer. I’m Emily Jabbour and I’m running for mayor. And I’ll keep listening and getting results to keep Hoboken safe and moving forward.”
