Senator Cory Booker announced his engagement to Alexis Lewis in a social media post on Tuesday.
Lewis is a vice president of investments at Brasa Capital Management, and she’s earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master of business administration from Cornell University’s S.C. Johnson College of Business, according to her bio. Booker had been largely private about the relationship— he told the Washington Examiner last month that the pair had been dating for about the past year and that they live in D.C. together.
“Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life,” Booker wrote in an Instagram post. “She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love.”
Booker, who is seeking re-election next year and may be considering a 2028 run for president, released five photos from their engagement, including one on a beach. They were engaged in Hawaii.
“I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée,” Booker wrote. “We are excited for this journey ahead, having so much fun, and feeling deeply grateful for the love, support, and energy so many of you have shared with us. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful community lifting us in love and commitment.”
