The Office Tavern Grill is kicking off the fall with several changes across its restaurants in New Jersey.
Along with unveiling a revamped interior at its Morristown flagship, the popular eatery launched an updated menu across all four of its spots that features many returning hits.
Owned by Morristown-headquartered 40North Restaurant Group, The Office is known for its elevated American comfort food prepared using thoughtful ingredients and scratch-made elements. The concept was also the first in New Jersey to offer 40 beers on tap that consist of rotating selections, local brews and a curated beer list.
Kevin Felice is vice president of 40North, the full-service restaurant division of family-run hospitality company Villa Restaurant Group. He said, “The new menu and updated look in Morristown mark the next chapter in our continued evolution as a modern neighborhood gathering spot. It reflects what our guests have always loved about The Office – familiar flavors done really well, with unexpected touches that make the experience memorable. And with the updates in Morristown, we’re showing how our spaces can evolve along with our menu, while staying true to our roots.”
According to 40North Restaurant Group, the recently renovated establishment on South Street in Morristown now includes fresh décor, a new color palette, larger TVs, updated finishes and other design enhancements aimed at bringing a “modern upgrade to the beloved tavern atmosphere.”
What’s on the menu
At all of its properties – Morristown, Summit, Ridgewood and East Hanover – The Office rolled out a refreshed menu that includes new dishes including peach glazed baby back ribs, Mediterranean chicken pita, birria tacos, miso glazed salmon and shrimp po’boy. According to 40North, several of those items are from a seasonal series that allows guests to explore regional American cuisines from the comfort of home.
Sean Carner, 40North’s corporate executive chef, said management’s goal “was to elevate what guests already love while putting a unique spin on classic eats.”
“We listened to our regulars and brought back some of their most-requested items, while introducing new dishes that showcase the creativity of our scratch kitchen and the quality of our ingredients,” Carner said.

Other brands in 40North’s portfolio include:
- Piattino
- Town Bar + Kitchen
- Steelworks Buffet & Grill
- NOM Mexican Table + Tequila Bar
Earlier this year, 40North completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of Black Horse Tavern & Pub that includes an upgraded kitchen, dining room, bar and outside space. The Mendham eatery is considered the oldest continuously running restaurant in New Jersey.
Along with preserving the building’s character, the nearly year-long project aimed to enhance the overall experience through interior updates and a menu refresh.
